This article is designed to share some news about a new partnership we’ve entered into at Athletics Australia, which we hope will have a positive impact on your coaching.

We’ve recently partnered with Polytan, the global manufacturer and installer of Rekortan track surfaces that the majority of coaches are already using across Australia. This partnership is, at its heart, a commercially strategic alliance, offering benefits to AA coaches including innovative technology such as Polytan Smart, which can make a meaningful difference in how you coach, collect performance data, and manage our athletes’ performance.

Polytan Smart is designed to automatically capture and track important athlete data like split times, speed, step count, and more. It is a useful tool for many disciplines, from sprints to jumps, and removes the need for stopwatches and manual recording, allowing you to focus more on your athletes. The data is precise and easily accessible, giving you the tools to make informed decisions about training and recovery, and helping reduce the risk of injury.

We’re aware that approximately 80% of the athletics tracks in Australia are Rekortan, meaning many of you are working with Polytan products every day. Some of these tracks already have the Polytan Smart systems embedded into the tracks. Our goal with this partnership is to ensure that all coaches are made aware of the Polytan Smart system and have the opportunity to make your coaching easier by providing you with more accurate and detailed performance data from your athletes.

To make this even more accessible, Athletics Australia has secured a significant discount for our coaches. You’ll be able to save $800 on a Polytan Smart mobile kit. We believe this could be a valuable tool for you and your athletes in the upcoming season, providing more insight into your athletes’ progress and allowing for a more strategic approach to training.
