Expressions of Interest NOW OPEN - National Generation 2032 Program
Athletics Australia is seeking expressions of interest from former elite athletes, early career high performance coaches, as well as currently employed NSO/NIN coaches who would like to be considered for nomination by Athletics Australia (AA) to the Australian Institute of Sport for the 2025/26 National Generation 2032 Coach Program (NG32CP).
Background
The National Generation 2032 Coach Program (NG32CP) is an initiative of the Australian Institute of Sport High Performance Coach Strategy and aims to increase the number and diversity of Australian high-performance coaches across the system who can contribute positively to future Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games. National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) and National Institute Network (NIN) partners are encouraged to collaborate, and together or independently, partner with the AIS to deliver the NG32CP.
Program Summary
Coaches selected for the program will be offered full time employment for 2 years, funded jointly by AA, the AIS, and/or an appropriate NIN (where applicable). The minimum salary is set at $75,000 p.a. plus superannuation. While the intention of the program is that sports aim to provide ongoing employment at the end of the 2-year program, Athletics Australia cannot guarantee ongoing employment.
A maximum of thirty Scholarships will be available across all sports, hence competition for these roles will be strong with no guarantee of Athletics Australia receiving a place in the program. The successful candidates are expected to commence on January 1, 2025.
The NG32CP is a full-time intensive coach development program requiring a significant time investment, therefore potential applicants must be fully aware and prepared to undertake all the commitment requirements of the program.
Program experience includes:
Full or part-time employment by the NSO or NIN partner for two years (co-funded by the AIS).
AIS led Learning Labs (6 across the 2 years, face-to-face) delivered by AIS Coach Development Leads and other subject matter experts.
