Selection criteria for both programs

Applicants to either program should demonstrate that they meet some or all of the following criteria:

  • Currently coach international athletes, or have a genuine aspiration to do so.
  • Are identified as a coach within a targeted event group or geographic location.
  • Participate in the Performance Coach Support Program, Athlete to Coach Transition Program (able bodied or Para), or Women in High Performance Coaching Program.

  • Hold current Australian Athletics coaching accreditation.
How selection and the residency work
01 / Apply and be considered
Applications are assessed jointly by the participating elite coach or coaches and Mark Stewart, Australian Athletics’ Coach Development Coordinator.
02 / Agree your residency
Successful applicants agree suitable timing with the host coaches for up to one week in their daily training environment.
03 / Reflect on your learning
Afterwards, complete a written reflection using the supplied template. Your host coach also assesses your participation, engagement and commitment.
