Three Coaches Celebrated in Queensland Athletics Awards

We were thrilled to celebrate not one, but three incredible coaches who have gone above and beyond in supporting their athletes to achieve world-class performances.
Andrew Iselin (coach of Torrie Lewis, Calab Law, and Lachlan Kennedy), Brendan Mallyon (coach of Peyton Craig), and Diane Sheppard (coach of Gout Gout) were awarded as Queensland Athletics’ Coaches of the Year at the annual awards on Saturday evening.

Brendan Mallyon helped guide Peyton Craig to the 2024 Olympic Games, where he excelled with a 1:44:11 time in the men’s 800m Semi-Finals.

Andrew Iselin had an incredibly busy July and August, with three athletes (Lewis, Law, and Kennedy) representing Australia at the 2024 Olympic Games. Lewis stunned with a Semi-Finals birth, while Kennedy and Law were part of Australia’s fastest ever mens’ 4x100m team.

All three coaches successfully guided athletes to the 2024 World U20 Championships, where Gout Gout, Torrie Lewis, and Peyton Craig all earned Silver medals.

Congratulations to all three of these incredibly talented coaches.
